I started by downloading and extracting the SSSC1_WSRT.MS as I don't have MakeMS on my computer. The Data columns are uninitalised and contain values of (0,1), (1,0) and (0,1) for all channels and polarisations of the Data, Model_Data and Corrected_Data respectively.
I opened the Siamese/example-sim.py program and set the inputs as per the SSSC instructions. Notably a Meow text sky model is used, and a periodic amplitude variations are enabled. The job is then compiled.
The imager was run to initalise some columns. I don't think this is necessary if starting with the MS provided, but I did it anyway to be sure. It generates the SSSC1_WSRT.MS.CORRECTED_DATA.channel.64ch image. I'm a little surprised by the image it map. As the (uninitialised) input data was flat I would have expected a single spike in the image and not the image seen below.
Next the dataset is simulated this should fill the MS with data consistant with the input sky model corrupted with the amplitude variation. This data was then imaged (SSSC1_WSRT.MS.DATA.channel.1ch)
I also tried to simulate the data without any corruption for comparison however this did not work and gave error messages stating that there was a mismatch between spigot and sink format.
